Breach details:
Paragraph 901 of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales (8th Edition).
Offence details:

Mr DB practiced as a self employed barrister from 27th May 2005 until 9th September 2005 without having a practicing certificate issued by the Bar Council contrary to the Practising Certificate Regulations paragraph 202 (c ) and Annex D of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England Wales (8th Edition). Mr DB failed to pay immediately when due the appropriate insurance premium of the policy year commencing 1st April 2005 required by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund Limited for the purpose of insurance against claims for professional negligence contrary to paragraph 402.2 (a) of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales (8th Edition) DB supplied legal services to the public between 27 May 2005 and 9 September 2005 without being covered by insurance against claims for professional negligence arising out of the supply of such services contrary to paragraph 204 (b) of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales (8th Edition). DB failed to respond promptly or at all to requests from the Bar Council for comments or information on a complaint made against him by letters dated 27 May 2005, 13 October 2005 and 3 November 2005 contrary to paragraph 901 (d) of the Code of Conduct of the Bar of England and Wales (8th Edition).

Sanction:
Disbarred - Reinstated by Inn on 8 December 2009.
