Other useful terms:

Absolute owner

The final owner of property such as equipment, buildings, land or vehicles: the person who has the right to do what they wish with the item, subject to the law.

Absolute discharge

Someone who has been convicted of an offence then being released without any penalty. (They may still be required to pay compensation though.) It can occur when a court concludes that a crime has technically been committed, but that punishing the defendant would be inappropriate, and the case is then closed.
