A. Vincent Solicitors Ltd (SRA number 630449) (the Firm) have been granted permission under section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Vay Ip (SRA number 275587) as an Admin Assistant, based on the job description and supervision arrangements outlined in the Firm's application dated 1 April 2024 and emails dated 1 August and 18 September 2024. This is subject to the following conditions:

  1. Mr Ip's work will be directly supervised by Ogugua Ebuzoeme (SRA number 274340).
  2. In the absence of Mr Ebuzoeme, Mr Ip's work will be directly supervised by Naseer Shah (SRA number 511067).
  3. Mr Ip must not receive or have access to client money or be a signatory to any office or client account.
  4. Mr Ip shall not have any responsibility for or be involved in the training or supervision of any other employee at the Firm.
  5. The SRA is immediately informed by Mr Ebuzoeme or Mr Shah of any proposed variation in Mr Ip's duties or his supervision arrangements. Any variation must not take place until permission is granted by the SRA.
  6. This approval will end on the expiry of Mr Ip's employment with the Firm, with any intended return to the Firm or any other firm requiring a new application for approval.
Reasons/basis

Vay Ip was struck off the roll of solicitors on 24 August 2017. In accordance with section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate him in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain our approval. We are satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice or the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
