Wolfson & Co LLP have been granted permission under Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Miss Bushra Anwar, subject to the following conditions:

  1. Miss Anwar's work will be directly supervised by Paul Normandale. In his absence, Miss Anwar must be supervised by a solicitor of no less than three years’ qualification.
  2. Miss Anwar shall not have responsibility for, or be involved in, the training or supervision of any other employee at Wolfson & Co LLP.
  3. Miss Anwar shall not hold, receive or have any responsibility for client monies;
  4. Miss Anwar is not an authorised signatory to any client or office account cheque and does not have the power to authorise electronic payments or transfers from any client or office account;
  5. The SRA is immediately informed of any proposed variation in Miss Anwar's duties or her supervision arrangements prior to variation;
  6. This approval and the conditions attached to it are subject to review at the absolute discretion of the SRA.

Reasons/basis
Miss Anwar was struck off the Roll on 18 May 1999. In accordance with Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate her in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain the SRA's approval. The SRA is satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.
