Decision details

Kumari Hart Limited’s application to vary the approval of employment of Geoffrey Hart has been granted. Kumari Hart Limited have been granted permission to employ Geoffrey Hart as Head of Communications subject to the following conditions:

  1. This approval is given on the basis of the application form and supporting documents, received on 23 January 2020 and 15 January 2021. The supervision arrangements and job description, as outlined, may not be varied without our prior written approval.
  2. Mr Geoffrey Hart’s work will be directly supervised by Anu Hart. In her absence Mr Hart will not work in the office.
  3. Mr Geoffrey Hart is permitted to work remotely until the current government restrictions instated in light of the coronavirus pandemic are lifted.
  4. This approval is reviewable at our discretion.
  5. This approval will lapse if Mr Geoffrey Hart’s employment Kumari Hart Limited is terminated.

Reasons/basis

Geoffrey Hart was struck of the roll of solicitors on 14 October 2019. In accordance with Section 41 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate him in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain our approval. We are satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients risk.

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
