The Court of Faculties ordered that the respondent be admonished for his misconduct pursuant to Rule 9.2.1 of the Notaries Practice Rules 2014 (as amended July 2017), for his bringing the profession of notaries into disrepute and for his handling of the transactions on behalf of his clients in the manner which suggested that his moral compass was completely wrong.

The court placed no restriction on the respondent's notarial practising certificate, in accordance with the finding of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal that there should be no restriction on the respondent’s ability to practise as a solicitor.
