John Wilmot engaged in conduct which was dishonest or otherwise discreditable to a barrister and/or brought the legal profession into disrepute, contrary to paragraphs 301(a)(i) and/or 301(a)(iii) of the Code of Conduct, in that on 13th June 2008, he was convicted by a jury at the Southwark Crown Court of Cheating the Public Revenue, and as a result of that conviction, was sentenced on 1st July 2008 to five years imprisonment, was disqualified from acting as a director for eight years, and was recommended for deportation.
