Charges
The charges against Ms. Ul Haq were:
Charge 1: Failing to uphold the rule of law and the impartial administration of justice and/or maintain high standards of professional and personal conduct, contrary to Principles 1 and 2 (respectively) of the CILEx Code of Conduct 2015.
The Particulars were that Nisa Ul Haq was, on 3 December 2015, convicted at Leeds Crown Court of:
(i) conspiracy to traffic persons into the UK for the purpose of exploitation;
(ii) assisting unlawful immigration; and
(iii) attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to a witness
Further, On 29 January 2016, Nisa Ul Haq, was sentenced for the said offences by the said court to a total of 5 years and 6 months imprisonment.
Outcome
All charges were proven.
Sanction – Indefinite exclusion
The Disciplinary Tribunal ordered that Ms. Ul Haq be excluded for an indefinite period with immediate effect. The Tribunal recommended that reinstatement is not considered before 15 years has passed.
