Decision details

Allied Law Chambers Solicitors Limited have been granted permission under section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 to employ Rakesh Sood, subject to the following conditions:

  1. Rakesh Sood at all times is directly supervised by Muhammad Khan, and in Mr Khan’s absence by another manager of the firm.
  2. Rakesh Sood’s employment is limited to that described in the following documents:
    • Section 43 approval of employment form signed by Muhammad Khan dated 11 November 2021.
    • Job description attached to the Section 43 approval of employment application form.
    • Email from Muhammad Khan dated 21 January 2022.
  3. Rakesh Sood’s supervision is as per the details provided to us in the Section 43 approval of employment form signed by Mr Khan on 11 November 2021, and the additional email received from Mr Khan 21 January 2022.
  4. Any proposed variation to the job description, duties, or arrangements as to Rakesh Sood’s supervision are notified to the SRA in advance of the changes taking place and that the variation must not take place until permission is granted by the SRA.
  5. Rakesh Sood shall not have any responsibility for or be involved in the training or supervision of any other employee at Allied Law Chambers Solicitors Limited.
  6. This approval will lapse if Mr Sood’s employment with Allied Law Chambers Solicitors Limited is terminated.
  7. This approval and the conditions attached to it are subject to review at the absolute discretion of the SRA

Other information

Rakesh Sood was made subject to an order under section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974 on 1 March 2019. In accordance with section 43 of the Solicitors Act 1974, any solicitor wishing to employ or remunerate her in connection with their practise as a solicitor must obtain our approval. The SRA is satisfied that the above employment will not put public confidence in the administration of justice and the provision of legal services or the interests of clients at risk.
