Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer. 

 The matter was heard on 1, 2 and 3 April 2019. 

 The Tribunal ordered that Ms Taylor be fined £7,501 and also ordered that, as from 3 April 2019, except in accordance with Law Society permission:- 

(i) No solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with his practice as a solicitor Sheena Kay Taylor; 

(ii) No employee of a solicitor shall employ or remunerate, in connection with the solicitor’s practice the said Sheena Kay Taylor;

(iii) No recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Sheena Kay Taylor; 

(iv) No manager or employee of a recognised body shall employ or remunerate the said Sheena Kay Taylor in connection with the business of that body; 

(v) No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Sheena Kay Taylor to be a manager of the body; 

(vi) No recognised body or manager or employee of such a body shall permit the said Sheena Kay Taylor to have an interest in the body.
