Offence details:

Mr. Dunn engaged in conduct which was likely to diminish public confidence in the legal profession or the administration of justice or otherwise bring the legal profession into disrepute contrary to paragraph 301 (a) (iii) of the Code of Conduct in that between in or about December 2006 and July 2007 and while acting in person in the case of Stewart Dunn v Glass Systems (UK) Limited: -

(1) He drafted and verified Particulars of Claim served on or about 12 December 2006 containing numerous allegations of fraud, dishonesty and other misconduct against his former client, Glass Systems (UK) Limited and its directors, Alan and Jackie Wallis without any reasonably credible material to support the making of such allegations.

(2) He failed to preserve the confidentiality of the affairs of his former lay client, GSL, in that without its prior consent, he revealed the contents of Glass Systems (UK) Limited?s instructions to him in relation to a potential claim by Glass Systems (UK) Limited against Clestra Hauserman Limited in the Particulars of Claim.

(3) He drafted Particulars of Claim that were excessively long and which, given the simplicity of the dispute, were oppressive.

(4) He drafted and verified a witness statement served on or about 25 June 2007 containing numerous allegations of fraud, dishonesty and other misconduct against Glass Systems (UK) Limited, and its directors, Alan and Jackie Wallis without any reasonably credible material to support the making of such allegations.

(5) When conducting proceedings at court between 26 and 28 June 2007 he relied upon his witness statement, including those parts alleging fraud, dishonesty and other misconduct, when he still had no reasonably credible material to support the making of such allegations and when such allegations did not go to a matter in issue material to the applications then being determined by the court.

(6) Throughout the litigation, he claimed exorbitant and indefensible sums by way of fees, costs, and damages.
